Anders Moseholm “Updated Newsroom 2031″ oil on canvas 37 1/2 x 47″

“The exteriors (cityscapes) and interiors in my paintings are not specific locations. They are improvisations and interpretations, empty old interiors with a Hitchcockian tension between what is both romantic, beautiful and scary.  I am trying to create a mood – a sense of motion, an authentic emotional scenery.  The exterior paintings of the urban fabric reflect our current state of mind, dynamic and in flux, always present, wherever, whenever. Even static monuments and buildings seem to float.  I intuitively choose to paint motifs that make an impression on me and during the process I bring out what I find important. It’s a process of creation by destruction. I build a critical dimension and resistance in the paintings either with color, random childish flowers,  word-rhythm-sutras, geometric squares, heavy white brushstrokes…”                                                    AM 2015
